Google will unveil the Pixel successors this year and before its Q4 launch, there are a few features revealed. Details here!

So far, there are three Pixel 2 codenames circulating through the web. Walleye, Muskie and Taimen are the alleged Pixel successors coming with more advanced features.

Google is expected to introduce three Pixel 2 phones this year but only a few have reported the specs details. However, the Android O developer preview unveiling suggests what it is to come with Google Pixel 2.

Recently, Google announced Android O features - one of which - will improve the battery life of a smartphone. The smart system will limit the background apps activity - making a device conserves energy.

The second interesting feature is the Picture-in-Picture support. This isn't a new thing for iPad users but it is a fresh feature in Android platform. This will allow Pixel 2 users to watch video while browsing the web.

These aren't the only features coming to Pixel 2 with Android O. Google has made a few tweaks on the connectivity department with WiFi Aware feature and high quality BlueTooth. That being said, the Pixel 2 may be following iPhone to ditch the headphone jack.

Moreover, Android O also brings wider color gamut. The particular feature helps to reproduce colors more accurately, according to Android Police. This will be an appealing addition for Pixel 2 potential users especially for professionals. To put into perspective, Apple has been applying wider color gamut for its devices. For instance, iPhone 7 Plus looks more appealing to photography enthusiasts as it has a wider color gamut making it 25 percent brighter than the iPhone 6, ValueWalk reported.

Google Android O Roll Out Schedule

Google currently opens door for developers to test Android O to ask for feedbacks and critics regarding the new platform. The firmware is now compatible with Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C and a Nexus 6P. Preview 2 will likely be pushed in May with Android O official release happening in Q3 2017.
