With the forthcoming "Pokemon" anime's 20th year anniversary, several "Pokemon Go" players hope that Niantic will launch a special event to show respect for the said milestone. The next "Pokemon Go" event might involve more hat wearing Pikachu to link into the anime's 20th anniversary.

Over the years, Pokemon enthusiasts have seen the various adventures of the trainer Ash and Pokemon sidekick Pikachu in the anime series. The "Pokemon" anime series was launched in April 1997, and the anime series became one of the famous anime in the world, where the chubby rodent Pikachu became the franchise's mascot. In the "Pokemon Go" mobile game, Pikachu's various versions also appeared in the game during special holidays.

Given the impending "Pokemon" anime series' 20th anniversary, a number of "Pokemon Go" players are expecting the video game developer to unveil a similar in-game event in the coming weeks. Nonetheless, Daily Star obtained a promotional video, unleashed by Japanese cinema chain TOHO, that contained elements that hinted a potential "Pokemon Go" event.

While "Pokemon Go" gamers are having a hard time trying to figure out what the game's next event might be, internet data mining teams are digging up at how the video game company may eventually change gym battles in the "Pokemon Go." According to Pokemon Go Hub, they recently learned that the game developer doesn't have the technology to link long distance points on the map like in the augmented-reality mobile game, "Ingress." Wherein, as Niantic can't create a team based objectives in the "Pokemon Go," there is no Gym connection or Gym links.

That being the case, "Pokemon Go" fanatics will just have to wait for further information from the game developer regarding any potential events. Even though the video game company will skip an event during the "Pokemon" anime's 20th year anniversary, there is a possibility that Niantic will launch an event for Easter.
