There are plenty of apps available from the Google Play Store though most are limiting their choices to the free apps available for download. Paid apps are normally looked at second though frequent visitors have been prowling for some surprise bargains.

Some Android apps from the Google Play Store normally offer price cuts, especially if they don’t perform well. Normally costing $0.99, the discounted price may not be that much. More expensive ones offer bigger slash in cuts so the cheapest ones normally try to make it free. Right now, there are some interesting apps to consider downloading for free, according to Slash Gear.

What are the free apps available?

The free apps available for a limited time from the Google Play Store are a mix of games and productivity apps. Among the game titles include “Zombie City Defense”, “Bloons” and “2-Bit Cowboy”. These game apps are priced more than $0.99 so the free promo to get them could be a good idea.

While games would be the primary target of some from the Google Play Store, there are nifty apps one can use for their device as well. That includes “Floating Widget” and “WallArt” apps that should add some flare to phones with default settings.

In terms of learning or productivity, folks who want to strike a chord or two could try out “Ultimate Guitar”. Originally priced at $3, getting hold of it for free is more than a fair deal.

“Super Mario Run” gets a release date

Speaking of game apps, we shift to high gear to “Super Mario Run” for Android. Thanks to a tweet by Nintendo of America, we now know when the Android version will come out. The date of release is March 23.

Similar to how it was offered on iOS, it is expected to be free with revenue coming from in-game purchases. Barring any delays, this means the Google Play Store could be plagued with downloads in a couple of days. Could it be one reason why other apps are being offered for free?
