Up until these days, Microsoft still choses to remain tight-lipped regarding the long-rumored Surface Pro 5 but rumongers constantly spreading speculations about the device's specs and features. Just recently, some reports suggest that AMD has interfered with Intel and Microsoft's relationship and has successfully kicked out Intel chips from Surface Pro 5 and pushed for Ryzen 7.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Revealed in a Sci-Fi Movie

Although Microsoft has not directly confirming the existence of Surface Pro 5, recent reports suggest that the purported device has revealed in a sci-fi movie trailer entitled "Alien: Covenant". According to Express, hawk-eyed tech fans have reportedly spotted a device having similarities to the build and design of Surface Pro 5 used by a group of scientists from the movie.

Later on, fans have learned that the blockbuster Sci-Fi movie is sponsored by AMD through the appearance of the company's logo in the trailer. For this reason, fans immediately speculate that it has something to do with the under the hood specs of Surface Pro 5.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Will Run AMD Ryzen 7 Instead of Intel Kaby Lake

An interesting rumor has begun surfacing the internet after Surface Pro 5 reportedly spotted in AMD-sponsored sci-fi movie. According to PC Advisor, the new Surface device might run AMD Ryzen 7 instead of Intel Kaby Lake that is further supported by the description, "Intelligence powered by AMD, Ryzen and Radeon".

The new rumored processing chipset is an addition to Surface Pro 5 purported specs such as 4K UltraHD resolution, 512GB internal storage, 16GB of RAM and an upgraded Surface Pen stylus that adapts wireless charging. The 12.3-inch device is also expected to sport a more portable built compared to its predecessor.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date

Initial reports suggest that Microsoft might launch the Surface Pro 5 in March to fulfill the Q1 2017 release as planned. However, PC Advisor suggest that the Windows-maker is likely to delay the launching in October during the Creator Update event.
