Samsung has developed a pressure-sensitive technology for its own OLED displays, which will have a full implementation on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 another feature to earn its "great" codename as opposed to only the Home button on the Galaxy S8. Samsung as a supplier to Apple is now in a position not only to anticipate but to be privy to its rival's future plans, which may result in a closer resemblance of the Galaxy and the iPhone brands in future iterations.

Samsung has created its own 3D Touch version this time using OLED display and has patented the technology. This new development may have been spurred by Apple's requirements to continue its 3D Touch functionalities in new iterations ever since iPhone 6S to its newest OLED supplier. The 3D Touch feature in OLED is not a new thing for this was already seen in the Huawei P9 Plus in 2015 but in limited usage. Now Samsung is boasting to add another layer of juicy technology to the display that will first be seen in its entirety in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Phone Arena reported.

More than just the usual pop-up menus, the pressure-sensitive display is expected to have a creative implementation especially since the Android Nougat already brings out the app shortcuts when the home screen is pressed longer. More details will be revealed when the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 gets released, which could be this summer or the latest by early fall. The new technology further confirms previous reports that there will be no home button on the Note 7 successor.

Under the hood of the "great" Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is an 8GB of Ram and Exynos 8895 chipset, which is a processor that has been associated with a dual camera setup. The latest report on the safer, better and more innovative follow-up to the Note 7 is that it will not have an S Pen stylus support. However, Samsung claims that it will be faster than S8, taller and with a larger high-resolution screen with new speakers according to Droid Report.

Moreover, Samsung is now in a unique position as an Apple supplier to be knowledgeable to its rival's next moves according to BGR. In the past, the South Koreans have been criticized for copying the iPhones in its Galaxy brands. Consumers may see more similarities between the two phones in the future iterations just like the pressure-sensitive technology on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may also be seen in the iPhone 8.
