Under the hood, reputable tipster Ming Chi Kuo believes that iPad Air 3 will rock A9X chipset. This is not the most powerful Apple processor as the company readies the A10X for the 12.5-inch iPad Pro 2 - but it gives a much better performance compared to the old A8X.

Reports hint at the launch of all iPad Pro 2 models will coincide with iPad Air 2 birthday, Droid Report has learned. This special day could mark the presence of great features for the Air tablet. 

The impending iPad Air 3 is expected to be sleeker and thinner with a fingerprint sensor mounted on its front panel. It will sport 2.1 MP camera, bigger battery capacity and possibly no headphone jack. It is understandable that loyalist come to believe that Apple might discontinue iPad Air. This is due to the lack of evidence that corroborates its existence. Kuo never mentions the Air model whilst reports pay more attention to iPad Pro.

However, the 'killing off' speculation might not be true since Apple reportedly positions the small variant og iPad Pro 2 as an affordable tablet - which is in line with the iPad Air purpose to cater budget concern users.

iPad Air 3 is rumored to have a 9.7-inch Retina HD display. This may not be fresh news but Apple reportedly considers upgrading the display technology for this year's iteration, MacWorld has learned.

Furthering the detail, the iPad Air 3 could have its screen modified with anti-reflective coating according to the media outlet.

The iPad refreshes are expected to see the light of day in October 2017 as per report from DigiTimes. The media outlet dismisses the rumors that Apple will launch the iPad Air 3 in March.
