Samsung and Apple's competition in the smartphone market is going into the next level but the reliable industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the former will have a difficult time in catching up with the latter because Galaxy S8 has no attractive selling points. For this reason, Galaxy S8 Plus is reportedly considered as Samsung's lucky charm.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Lack Attractive Selling Points

Samsung Galaxy S8 is a big deal for Samsung because the South Korean tech firm is looking forward to regain the consumers' trust after the Galaxy Note 7 debacle. Although the upcoming flagship smartphone is equipped with high-performing specs and groundbreaking features, the reliable analyst pointed out the absence of attractive selling points, Forbes reported.

In relation to that, Kuo projected about 40 to 45 million shipments of Samsung Galaxy S8 for 2017 which is lower than the Galaxy S7 with 52 million units shipped in 2016. Kuo also added that Galaxy S7 is the one that filled the void left by Galaxy Note 7 debacle but the OLED screen for Galaxy S8 could draw a lot of attention from the consumers.

Furthermore, 2017 could also be an uphill battle for Samsung since Apple is slated to release the purported iPhone 8 which is reportedly more revolutionary and innovative than Samsung counterparts. Although Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 are similar in many ways, Kuo believes that a number of Android users could switch to iOS in September.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus Might be Samsung's Lucky Charm

While Samsung Galaxy S8 may sound like ordinary, the Plus variant could be Samsung's other means to gain back the customers' trust. According to BGR, the smartphone's whopping 6.2-inch screen display with 2960 x 2400 pixels (WQHD+) will be its best asset, making it as the largest Galaxy member so far.

Furthermore, another advantage of Galaxy S8 Plus from the regular model is its bigger battery capacity of 3500 mAh. The device is slated to launch in March 28 but the release date has been pushed back to April 28 according to Evan Blass latest tweet.
