The stylish fossil smartwatch gets an upgrade. Three models have been tweaked with the latest wearable technology on Earth, the Android Wear 2.0.

Android wear 2.0 is the most powerful version of Google's operating system (OS) for wearable technologies to date. For one thing, it integrates Google Now and other mobile notifications into a gadget. Through it, the Fossil smartwatch can now download apps from the Google Play Store just like common handsets.

Fossil Smartwatch: 3 models upgraded

According to The Verge, Fossil smartwatch owners are among the lucky ones to be given the chance to experience the very limited Android Wear 2.0 technology. The company has updated the OS of its Q Wander, Q Marshal, and Q Founder variants. Indeed, this move could be a game-changer for the Fossil brand.

While the Fossil smartwatch is not the first lineup to receive the new software, it is actually among the few ones. Although Fossil was a little late in joining the wearable tech race, it appears to be way faster than its competitors in acquiring Android Wear 2.0. For the record, even TAG Heuer will not offer the latest OS until the end of March.

Well, normally, people buy wearables based on style. Since it has something to do with fashion, appearance is always a priority for a lot of consumers. However, if a product has something this powerful inside, fans just get one more reason to choose Fossil smartwatch over other brands.

What can the new Fossil smartwatch do?

Per Engadget, the Fossil smartwatch sports a more instinctive interface, Google Fit app, and the much-loved Google Assistant. It also gives people the ability to download Android apps right from their wrists, wherever they are. Basically, the Q series takes the place of typical smartphones nowadays.

On the other hand, Android Wear 2.0 copies one's Google account so users could send and receive messages when connected to a Wi-Fi. Interestingly, the Q Founder has both microphone and speaker too. Well, through it, customers would be able to take phone calls as well.
