Since Apple has reportedly bought 60 million OLED displays from Samsung thus, the next iPhone which is presumed to be called iPhone 10 is expected to sport a new display technology. Added to that is a report that Apple is working on an iPhone akin to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge variant.

The Truth Behind iPhone Edge Variant

Taking from the predictions of the reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple seems to be extremely serious about overhauling its iPhones. A report from Kuo revealed about the premium iPhone smaller than iPhone 7 Plus with some radical design tweaks.

This new iPhone will sport a 5.1-inch or 5.2-inch screen (though other reports said it's going to be 5.5-inch) which entails a similar design concept with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. According to Business Insider, the screen will wrap around the edges of the device but it won't feature a curved screen after all.

The Next iPhone Will Be Called iPhone 10

Die hard iPhone fans have reportedly confused over the name of the next iPhone. Everyone thought that it will be called as iPhone 8 since the breakout rumors last year; however, there is a possibility that it will be referred to as iPhone 10 to mark the 10th iPhone anniversary and iPhone 8 will be the iPhone 7s model, MacRumors reported.

On the other hand, the next iPhone is expected to host new exciting features. And the most interesting one is the new display technology using OLED screens which has many benefits such as power efficient and enhanced contrast, brightness and colors, better than what LCD could offer with previous iPhone models.

Furthermore, Apple has reportedly joined an industry group that develops wireless charging standards and thus, speculations suggest that it could be one of the selling points of the next iPhone. Lastly, the presumed iPhone 10 could have similar built with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s because it is rumored to use glass materials.
