The highly anticipated "Resident Evil Revelations" is expected to arrive this fall for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Also known as "Biohazard" in Japan, "Resident Evil Revelations" is a survival horror video game owned by the famous company, Capcom. The successful franchise, meanwhile, branched out into numerous products such as comic books, movies, and action figures. Its main plot focuses on various characters with unique abilities in battling a zombie apocalypse.

Viral Capcom tweet: 'Resident Evil Revelations' debut

Euro Gamer reported that Capcom confirmed the news on Twitter. It said that "Resident Evil Revelations" will launch not later than fall of 2017. The company is referring to both digital and physical versions of the game in North America and Europe.

For the record, "Resident Evil Revelations" was originally a Nintendo 3DS title back in 2012. One year after that, Capcom created an HD variant playable on PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360. The latest version of the game, the "Resident Evil 7", was hailed as the top-selling franchise of January 2017.

Interestingly, "Resident Evil Revelations" will be revealed only after its sequel. Well, "Revelations 2" skipped the 3DS and directly debuted on almost all gaming consoles. Indeed, Capcom might be doing this move to revive fan interests in the game as the "Resident Evil" movie is at a new high. Apparently, "Revelations 2" failed to gain enough attention upon its release.

'Resident Evil Revelations': Lead Cast & Setting

According to Game Rant, "Resident Evil Revelations" will happen sometime between the events of "Resident Evil 4" and "Resident Evil 5". It will star veteran voice actors, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. The original 3DS version was a success due to the exclusive 3DS controls.

On the other hand, the HD ports launched in 2013 were a little average. These specs added improved lighting, new characters, and another difficulty mode. It is also important to note that Capcom may introduce more playable roles for the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One ports.
