The “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 update shook things up a bit and the previous best attackers and defenders have gotten company. For those who kept track, this means that pocket monsters like “Dragonite”, “Lapras” and “Snorlax” are no longer the bigwigs since the release of teh new critters for use in Pokemon Gyms.

The “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 invasion included 80 new characters from the Johto region. Six of these newcomers have been singled out as ideal for use on the tier list. As far as gym defense, “Blissey” has emerged as the best since players need twice as more time to defeat him according to the Pokemon Go GamePress site.

Aside from “Blissey” other “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 critters crowding the old ones include “Tyranitar” for Tier 2.5, “Donphan”, “Espeon”, “Amparos”, “Slowking” and “Steelix” for Tier 3.5. “Umbreon” is seen as the best for Tier 4. The new tier list has been jumbled so augmented reality players may need time to get used to them.

The Best “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 Gym Attackers

From the defensive side of things, we go to the best “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 gym attackers to use. “Dragonite” tops the list followed by “Alakazam”, “Heracross”, “Cloyster” and “Exeguttor”. “Vaporeon” is not included in the list reportedly because “Starmie” and “Omastar” have the same level but notable do more damage and take less of it, Slash Gear reported.

Both “Starmie” and “Omastar” come armed with the same devastating water power arsental during “Pokemon Go” battles but are blessed with better average defense which makes them better options over “Vaporeon”.

These are the top tier “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 attackers and defenders at least for March 2017. Looking at the trend, changes are expected moving forward. While using the suggested top pocket monsters is one thing, it also depends on planning and tactics. It may be a long grind for the hardcore AR players but success can come in different ways.
