"Horizon Zero: Dawn" just launched last Feb. 28 and it has already received great reviews from gamers and critics alike praising its unique and innovative handling of open world elements and formula of "Far Cry." As young as the new installment is, an expansion DLC is already being asked following the successes of Bethesda and CD Projekt RED in keeping gamers engaged by adding new content while the preparation for the next installment goes underway.

This is the first time that Guerrilla Games ventured into an open world "Far Cry" type of game in the "Horizon Zero: Dawn." The studio is known for its first-person shooter game in "Killzone." Despite lacking the experience, the developers have proven that they are up to the game with an impeccable game design in the newest PS4 exclusive. It is the biggest launch in the console to date and its strong sales, outselling the iconic and popular "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," is an indication that it may hold that record for a long time.

The "Horizon Zero: Dawn" recently received an impressive across the board 89 percent from Metacritic, which aggregates review scores from certain gaming sites and where varying outlets are assigned different weights in the final average. The immense open world third-person action is able to capitalize on a mysterious lore and unique story progression. It is able to perfectly blend fantasy with tech in a unique way and naturally showcases lots of melees particularly using bow-and-arrow combat. It has strong visuals and art design, considered more advanced than other similarly themed games.

The "Horizon Zero: Dawn" was recently reviewed by wccftech giving it a 9.5 out of 10 rating. Other reviewers more or less share the same opinion although the game does have its flaw like the overly repeated hide-in-tall grass stealth kills, which can become tiring after a while, according to ScreenRant. However, the developers more than make up for it by putting interesting side quests that are far more complex than the usual fetch-and-retrieve kinds. It also offers a rich diversity of characters though a faulty face animation in dialogue has been found to be bothersome to some players.

In other related news, Guerrilla Game director Mathijs de Jonge recently shared some interesting tidbits on the "Horizon Zero: Dawn" like having guns in its early stage of development. However, it was soon scrapped because it did not conform to the theme. Moreover, there have been talks about a new expansion DLC to the PS4 exclusive. The studio did not make any official comment as of yet but Bethesda and CD Projekt RED have proven that new content will keep players engaged and happy as new games are still being conceptualized.
