Fans of Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X smartphones never cease to speculate about the possibility of the handset's revival most especially when Google rolled out the March security updates. Google has once expressed their intention to discontinue the Nexus lineup but the search giant has purportedly change its mind.

Google Continue to Rollout Security Updates to Nexus 6P

Various reports claim that Google has reportedly consider the revival of Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X handsets and one of its purported tell-tale sign is the March security patches which has been currently rolled out to Nexus 6P. If the rumored revival becomes reality, netizens speculate on the destruction of Google Pixel phones which until now continue to face global popularity issues that resulted to lower sales turnout for the fourth quarter of 2016.

However, Google remains tight-lipped about the emerging revival claims but netizens never lose their grip on the hopes to see Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X successors one of these days. To recall, Android 7.0 Nougat update to Nexus 6P has caused some issues such as battery failures, random shutdowns and in-car Bluetooth problems, Gigjets reported.

To address those issues, Google releases the March security updates to Nexus 6P via OTA that weighs 39MB that will fix more than 60 security issues. Surprisingly, there are 10,000 Nexus 6P units that reportedly the update lately which means there are still millions of users out there just patiently waiting for the upgrades.

Will Google Rollout Android 8.0 to Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X

The rolling out of Android 7.1.2 beta to Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X has got everyone thinking that Google is also likely to rollout Android 8.0 or presumed as "Oreo" to the well-loved handsets. However, Google has not confirmed the said report, though bringing the Pixel-exclusive features to the Nexus smartphones could be a tell-tale sign.

Meanwhile, users of Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X are enjoying the Android 7.1.2 newly enhanced features such as refreshed notification bundles, new power scheme "Doze Mode" and multi-tasking windows. However, the fingerprint gestures is missing in Nexus 6P, 9 to 5 Google reported.
