Reports have discussed the possibility of bringing VR feature to iMac 2017. Apple remains mum but a new speculation suggests a more interesting feature to anticipate.

It all went back to an interview with Tim Cook. His statement seems to linger in the faithful minds that desktop remains important to Apple, but apparently, Cook did not literally mention iMac. He did speak of 5K Retina-class iMac which already an old hardware lacking update.

Analysts quickly came up with their analysis on why Cook responded in such a careful manner. Bloomberg learned that Apple has blend macOS and iOS engineering teams into one department. The reputable media outlet went on to say that Apple isn't making Mac a priority as iPads and iPhones get more of the attentions.

That being said, Apple may be switching to a new OS, a merging between iOS and macOS. MacWorld reported that iOS apps are getting more amounts than macOS, thus, it makes sense if Apple decides to launch a hybrid OS in an iMac 2017, or whatever it will be called later.

If speculation comes to fruition, it will corroborate Cooks' statement that desktop is 'very important' and 'critical'; it is in the 'company's roadmap' and it will be 'great'.

In another piece of report, analyst Nate Mitchell doubted if the next iMac will be VR capable. Mitchell claimed that VR-gaming may not be Apple's priority for now. However, PC Advisor noted that the desktop could feature AMD Ryzen 7 - which makes a perfect CPU for a VR-ready iMac.

The offering sounds promising; let's not forget that Apple does not invent iMac for gaming. It is designed to meet graphics artists and providing professionals with productivity tools - but again, this is Apple we're talking about and the March event may come as a surprise to all of its loyalists.
