Recent rumors suggest that Microsoft is now working on Surface Book 2 and is due to be released this coming October. The second edition of the Surface Book laptop is anticipated to be equip with powerful specs that threatens the MacBook Pro's dominance.

Latest Updates on Microsoft Surface Book 2

Microsoft Surface Book 2 is expected to right the wrong of its predecessor through major upgrades on specs and features. For this reason, the second edition of Surface Book laptop is supposed to be the best that could threaten the MacBook Pro's dominance in the PC market.

Since Virtual Reality is the newest trend for today, Surface Book 2 is said to feature a VR-ready display which means a possibility of having a 4K resolution screen. In fact, PC Advisor reported that Microsoft has included such functionality to the upcoming Surface Pro 5 which is slated to be released in April 2017.

On the other hand, other reports suggest that Surface Book 2 delayed released is due to the fact that Microsoft is waiting for the availability of Intel Kaby Lake, the seventh-generation processor. For this reason, the newest processor chipset could power the next-generation laptop.

When it comes to physical design, Surface Book 2 is said to carry a lot of improvements. In the Instagram post of Microsoft, the Redmond-based tech giant teased the fans about photos of the purported laptop that shows a dynamic fulcrum hinge with more ridges that signifies a major design overhaul.

Future Surface Books Could Use ARM-Based Chips

A seismic change in the industry is currently happening when Microsoft tries to pivot away from the shadows of Intel. According to The Verge, the revelation of Microsoft's new ARM server designs signifies a major detest of the Windows-maker to the monopoly of the chipset giant.

On the other hand, there is also a possibility that the future Surface Books could use ARM-based chip in the same way as Apple plans to do the same with their future MacBook Pros. However, this significant change is deemed to have disadvantages that could affect the consumers and the industry.
