HMD Global continues to savor the success of the Nokia 3310 though most are waiting on higher-end models from the revived Finnish brand. The Nokia 6 is seen as the closest for now though there is word that at least two more Nokia Android flagships are in the works.Unofficially, these may be the Nokia 8.

The Chinese firm is believed to be working on new flagships hinting at a potential Nokia 8 carrying powerful specs. Among them include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, ironically the same chipset the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will be carrying. These will allegedly be all-metal phones offering dual cameras and a bigger display screen according to Chinese website MyDrivers.

Turning to the best Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset is only common, meaning the Nokia 8 will have to do more in other departments. One feature that stands out is the built-in cameras. Unfortunately, the camera technology will need to be a new tech since PureView technology was not included in the acquisition from Microsoft. To date, there is no word on what kind of cameras those flagships will carry, BGR.com reported.

The same case seems to hold true for the Carl Zeiss technology. HMD Global had previously mentioned that they are not using the said technology, much of which was discussed in a previous post. To date, the best factual reference could be the Nokia 6. The device showed off a 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front-facing shooter though both hardly made an impression. The Nokia 6 is a mid-range phone so the suspect Nokia 8 phones are expected to offer something better.

Other than the display and cameras of the planned Nokia Android flagships, potential specs reportedly include a device supporting up to 6 GB of RAM. Other features are expectedly scarce for now though it would not be surprising to find advanced biometric security as well as other enticing features seen in current smartphones in the market.
