Two separate versions of Samsung Galaxy S8 are expected to hit the store shelves this April - powered by Qualcomm 835 and Exynos 8895 mobile chipsets. While the chipsets, performance seems to be the same, the two also inhibits difference is particular aspects.

Which Chipset Has Better Performance in Galaxy S8?

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 have cores that run at different clock speeds but real-time benchmarks scores indicates that the chipsets performance in Galaxy S8 are almost identical or no difference at all. According to WCCF Tech, the two chipsets offer 40 percent power consumption reduction and 30 percent performance boosts due to the new 10 nm FinFET technology that free up more space and add more power to the chipsets.

When it comes to GPU, Exynos beats Qualcomm despite the 25 percent improvement on its Adreno 540 graphics that is bundled with Snapdragon 835. Mali-G71 GPU found in Exynos 8895 has an impressive 20-core configuration that promises 60 percent improvement compared to its predecessors' GPU performance.  

Furthermore, Samsung's proprietary chipset champions reportedly champions in data speeds and security. The dedicated security layer, flash memory protector and hardware crypto accelerator are the best security features of Exynos; added to that is the 5-band carrier aggregation for data speeds.

Lastly, Exynos 8895 is said to be the most reliable when it comes to fast charging because of Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charge and QI and PMA standards for wireless charging. Whereas, Qualcomm uses Quick Charge 4.0 and Qualcomm's WiPower for wireless, Phone Arena reported.

Due to CDMA-related patents, Qualcomm has reportedly involved in monopoly, forcing manufactures like Samsung to release modified versions of their devices. For this reason, Galaxy S8 distributed in US and China re powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 while Galaxy S8 to be distributed in other parts of the world bear Samsung's proprietary chipset, Exynos 8895.
