Mozilla, the company that developed the internet browser of the same name, have advertised their possible venture towards developing browser-based games. Mozilla recently unveiled its plans of incorporating Epic's Unreal Engine 4 to create web-based games that will run as fast or nearly as hardwired code.

At the moment, Mozilla has released a browser with WebAssembly, which enables high-resource apps like games to run smoothly on the web. Through this technology, games can run as fast as games installed directly into computers. Mozilla is putting a large chunk of their hopes on this new technology and they expect it to revolutionize web-based games, especially for MMPORG. Also with WebAssembly, it is hoped that even existing Java scripts will run more smoothly than ever.

Aside from this, Microsoft and Google will provide support on WebAssembly and the possible changes it will bring on the development of games. It is a dream of Mozilla to one day perfected an app that will allow resource intensive software like CAD and various games to be easily transport from the computer to smart phones. It can be easily imagined that in the near future, a person who is working on CAD or playing games can easily transfer their work or continue their gaming over their phones once needed.

The gaming industry is among the most dynamic industry in society today. The gaming community is somehow at the fore-front of technological development thus making it a very influential factor in the development of society. With WebAssembly, Mozilla's brainchild, the future of gaming will drastically change as games such as Doom can be easily played both on the PC and into one's own smartphone. The future is very much here and people are now seeing stuff that might be ten or twenty years ago, deemed impossible and even laughable.
