"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was released last Friday for Nintendo Switch and Wii U. Link has a tablet-like equipment designed for Wii U, which became a dilemma since the game will also be released for Nintendo Switch. Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi explains the steps they made to solve this issue.

The new accessory Link has in "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is the Sheikah Slate, which lets him do various things including navigate the Hyrule map and take photo, The Verge reported. This item was specifically designed for Wii U's Gamepad, which is a major concern according to Fujibayashi since the game will also be released for Nintendo switch. The game makers have to do major adjustments to bring the same game experience for both players of the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch.

According to Fujibayashi, they have to remove certain features in the game to bring the same gaming experience for both devices. He said they have to adjust the button assignment and remove the touch controls. The director said releasing the game for Switch is a great idea since Wii U requires players to focus on two screens at once.

This is also a big win for Nintendo since it can help boost its success upon the release of its new console, Vox reported. The company's Wii U and 3DS didn't really take off, which made it pin its hopes on the Switch. The success of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will also mean the success of Nintendo Switch.

Meanwhile, Fujibayashi said that the shift to Switch is imminent. He said they are already aware of the existence of the console for a long time. It isn't really a big surprise that they will release "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" to Nintendo Switch, he said.
