The Honda Civic Type R is the realization of the teenage dream car.

First seen at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show, the new Honda Civic Type R is packed with vents, scoops, bumps, and edges. Three exhaust pipes that cry out loud also give it a nasty reputation. Meanwhile, red accents cover it outside to provide a sporty feel.

Honda Civic Type R: Angry Design

New York Daily News reported that the crazy body of the Honda Civic Type R comes with a massive, devil-horned spoiler at the back. It will arrive on a single platform, the hatchback. This only means that the car would appear mean and angry, with exaggerated air vents in front and fender flares beside the big old wing.

An intimidating hood scoop delivers air to the engine that goes out in the three tailpipes. Apparently, the Honda Civic Type R is the hottest version of the compact segment to date. It has a decent chance of becoming the fastest and the most powerful Honda to be sold in the US too. Reportedly, it will retail late this spring for about $30,000.

The interiors of the Honda Civic Type R do not differ much from the normal hatchback, both featuring aggressive sports seats. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather while the shift knob and the pedals are all aluminum. Moreover, a red gauge cluster and a Type R plaque sit in the middle of the console. The headlights, taillights, fog and signal lights are all LED and a red Honda logo looks very hot.

Under the hood of the Honda Civic Type R

Per CNET, the Honda Civic Type R arrives with three different variants such as the Comfort, Sport, and +R. A2-liter four-cylinder engine provides a whopping 306 horsepower that works with a six-speed manual transmission for extra-quick gear shifts. To match its power, the vehicle runs equally strong Brembo brakes.

Interestingly, the motoring company decided not to employ an all-wheel drive system. Instead, it transferred all the power through the front wheels. Other specifications include a 7" touchscreen with standard navigation, smartphone projection such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 12-speaker audio system.

Lastly, the suspension sports a new dual-axis front, adaptive dampers, and an electric power steering system. The wheels of the Honda Civic Type R are measured at about 20". Hopefully, its size would direct all the turbocharged power straight to the ground.
