The discontinuation of Nexus-branded smartphone has reportedly disappointed loyal fans most especially the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P lovers. However, since Google Pixel phones have reportedly lower sales return because of demand and supply issue, conclusions suggest that Nexus brand discontinuation is Google's huge step towards wrong direction.

Every Google Pixel and Pixel XL phone users can attest that the devices are good in spreading the pure Android OS experience, not to mention the exclusive features of the phones included in Android Nougat. However, Los Angeles Times reported that among the major smartphone manufacturers in the market, Google has the lowest market share for the past year which accounted to supply and demand issues for the past five months.

According to a research conducted by Wave7, Google was heading to a good start after launching until such time when Google store is having difficulty in keeping the phones on stock. Although this is a good sign of higher consumer demand, Google has apparently failed in capitalizing the demand in order to fill the void hole left by the early dismissal of Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

In relation to that, analysts suggest that supply and demand issue is tremendously caused by Google's difficulties in looking for enough parts to manufacture more Pixel phones. For this reason, only 552,000 Google Pixel phones have reportedly sold for the last quarter of 2016 but nevertheless, the company is reportedly happy on the sales turnout.

It seems like Nexus 6P discontinuation has led Google into a wrong direction. For this reason, other reports claim that Google Pixel phones are sort of experiment and the great deal lies in the next Pixel phone tagged as Pixel 2 and Pixel 2B.

But what's the most interesting speculation that surfaces the internet right now is the revival of Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. According to Android Headlines, the brand is considered by many as "standard of excellence" where joys of pure android experience and hardware quality can be felt; yet, only Google knows which way to go.
