The tablet industry is alive once again when Samsung launched Galaxy Tab S3 in MWC 2017 and Apple set to launch series of iPad Pro 2 models in March. For this reason, Google is also expected to release the most anticipated Nexus 7 (2017) tablet anytime soon to counter biggest rivals with the pure Android experience the device can offer.

Nexus Brand Revival Seen in Google Nexus 7 Release

Google has just announced the discontinuation of Chromebook Pixel laptop in which they told the public about the dismissal of plans the 2017 iteration of the product. But in the same announcement, Google also said their intent to focus on smaller devices such as smartphones and tablets which make the netizens speculate about the imminent release of Nexus 7 (2017).

Nexus 7 (2017) is the most anticipated addition to the growing Pixel family; however, there seems to be having a confusion to the device's name. According to MobiPicker, it is highly possible for Google to rename the device Pixel 7 but "Nexus 7" appears to be more recognizable in a global perspective.

The tablet is expected to mark the revival of Nexus brand should Google decide to retain the name. It's worth mentioning that Pixel phones and Pixel tablets have issues on "global popularity" which resulted to lower sales turnout for the past year.

No More Andromeda OS for Google Nexus 7

In relation to the recent announcement of Google, the search giant also revealed about the uncertainty of a hybrid operating system called "Andromeda OS" which is supposedly pre-installed in Google Nexus 7 (2017) tablet. As a result, the device is presumed to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box which will give the purported tablet an edge over toughest rivals, Gigjets reported.

As the presumed successor of Pixel C tablet, Nexus 7 is expected to showcase Google Day Dream View VR support and will come along with larger sized VR headset. Nexus 7 will be the second tablet to support VR next to Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, should this functionality translate into reality.
