Samsung unveiled Chromebook Pro at MWC 2017 and it garnered attention as it is somehow a Surface Pro 4 dejavu. The laptop has earned positive reviews but Samsung should be worried when Chromebook Pixel and the fifth-gen Surface Pro comes out this year.

The top-of-line convertible comes with stylus support and AMOLED screen that displays stunning colors. It has a 12.3-inch screen with 9 hours of battery life. It's got 4 gigs of RAM and 32 gigs of internal memory. As an Android tablet, Samsung's Chromebook Pro packs a punch with its optimized hardware setup. It is even equipped with two ports of USB type C and a 720p HD webcam.

Although Chromebook Pro looks solid as a productivity tool, CNET reported that the device easily slows down when used for heavy demand. The keyboards and pad look more like a budget laptop than a premium design.

Chromebook Pixel and Surface Pro 5 could outshine Chromebook Pro

The Pixel laptop is Google's high-end flagship lauded for its advanced features. Google has officially stated that the laptop will have a successor but the company refused to provide any further detail on the release date, Droid Report wrote.

Both, Pixel laptop and Surface Pro 5 will have premium specs just like their older siblings and the Surface Pro 5 in particular, is said to receive overhauls on the processor and display. Microsoft is likely to equip the hybrid device with a Kaby Lake chip and 4K resolutions with a rechargeable Surface Pen.

Microsoft is expected to unveil the Surface Pro 5 this spring and it is one of the highly-anticipated devices that tech geeks can't wait to compare it with Samsung Chromebook.

The future of Chromebook Pixel, on the other hand, may still be blurry but Google's announcement should indicate that the tech giant will launch a more advanced laptop, probably with convertible feature, too?
