The latest Nintendo Switch is easy to repair, according to a recent iFixit review.

In case Nintendo Switch owners need to disassemble the console to patch-up something inside, iFixit assures that DIY repairs are highly possible. The team also cracked the two Joy-Cons and the dock alongside the console itself. All in all, the gadget scored eight over 10 in reparability.

According to The Verge, iFixit labeled Nintendo Switch as a portable device close to being a regular computer. Apparently, the hybrid tablet features a heat-pipe, a thermal paste, and a cooling fan among others. Some of the components that could be easily replaced are the screen, antennas, and even the motherboard.

In the process, iFixit found out that the Nintendo Switch thrives with a sizeable 3.7V 4310mAh battery. A microSD card slot is also present to augment the built-in 32GB eMMC storage. Meanwhile, the NVIDIA Tegra X1 is partnered with a 4GB LPDDR4 DRAM.

Apparently, the display is not directly connected to the glass, making it easier and cheaper to fix should you break the outer layer. On the other hand, the Joy-Con controllers of the Nintendo Switch are actually different even on the inside. The right part sports an additional NFC antenna for Amiibo, iFixit said. Both controllers, though, has an advanced vibration motor for accurate haptic feedback.

According to Ubergizmo, the use of tri-point screws is one of the reasons why iFixit gave the Nintendo Switch an eight. Unfortunately, users need specialized tools to unscrew the tri-points. Therefore, average consumers would not be able to open the console.

Additionally, iFixit said that there is a strong adhesive inside that makes replacing the digitizer harder than it should be. Aside from the digitizer, the Nintendo Switch seems to be using regular screws. At the end of the day, it will still be easier to unbolt the console than to melt the bonding agent. Lastly, the analog sticks, cartridge reader, and headphone jack are all modular in nature.
