Before AMD invested on Zen, the company has release its first architecture called Bulldozer which later spans into fourth generation. However, the company realizes that it's not the design they want and need, thus, resulted to creating a new one which used in Ryzen CPUs. On the other hand, the Radeon RX 500 is said to be a redesigned Polaris GPU.

AMD Will Fly High with Zen APUs

After four years, AMD has come up with a new design they called "Zen" replacing the previous lines that consist of Bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator. According to Ars Technica, Bulldozer family is underperformer which means processor are slow despite the fact that they come up with a higher price than its predecessor K10.

The slow performance of Bulldozer-based chipsets has resulted to the birth of the unexpectedly high-performing architecture Zen which is currently used in Ryzen CPUs. In fact, the new AMD CPU has stolen the limelight during the Gamers Developer Conference where the gaming community witness how the new CPUs moves across the board.

For this reason, AMD Ryzen gathered positive reviews and feedback and considered as the company's key to complete revival. Having said this, a report claims that AMD has pre-designed Ryzen for the upcoming Apple Macs which means replacing the comfortable throne of Intel in Macs for so many years.

On the other hand, AMD has already predicted that netizens would go after Ryzen 5 and Ryzen processors for both comes with cheaper prices compared to Ryzen 7. Ryzen 5 will be available in the second quarter while Ryzen 3 will be on the second half of 2017, PC Advisor reported.

Polaris is Present in Radeon RX Vega GPU

Recent rumors suggest that the upcoming Radeon RX 500 is an overhauled Polaris-based RX 400 GPU. However, TechSpot reported that it should not come as a surprise because RX 580 is almost identical to RX 480 but with higher clock speed of 1340 MHz from 1266 MHz.
