A few months back, rumor has it that Apple Inc. will include virtual reality (VR) support for the highly anticipated iMac 2017. Apparently, the tech giant's current move to AMD GPUs on its devices will give assistance in the transition. Nonetheless, recent reports are suggesting that the iMac 2017 VR support is somewhat bleak.

The virtual reality firm, Oculus, is withholding Oculus Rift VR headset support for the iMac 2017. This is mainly because Apple computers are not powerful enough to support virtual reality gaming. A standard VR gaming rig will require a computer with an Intel i5 processor as well as a graphics card that supports VR. Wherein, some of the Cupertino based tech giant's devices even support an Intel i7 chip, but a number of devices still lack the necessary graphics hardware, according to Tech Crunch.

Oculus co-founder Nate Mitchell, stated that the roadmap of Oculus does not include the iMac 2017 support. Mitchell also said that this does not mean that the virtual reality company does not intend to support the Cupertino based tech company in the future. The issue for the time being is that Oculus does not have the scheme to deal with it.

Nevertheless, although iMac 2017 might roll out without VR support, the iMac 2017 can still overcome its rivals, such as the Microsoft Surface Studio. In order for the iMac 2017 to beat its competitors, Apple's all-in-one desktop must have Intel's 7th-generation Kaby Lake processors. Wherein, it is almost certain that Apple would be utilizing Intel's powerful processor, according to a PC Advisor.

Also, Apple is said to launch the iMac 2017 at a more reasonable price than its competitors. This is for the reason that iMac 2017 rivals, such as the Microsoft Surface Studio, are as expensive as they come. If the iMac 2017 rolls out with a lower price, the device would be a far better deal for most tech fans compared to its biggest rival.
