AMD Reveals Radeon RX 500 at GDC 2017

Radeon RX 500 announced at GDC 2017 is reportedly a Polaris refreshed card from the previous series. It gets performance boost with slightly higher GPU clock.

It's interesting to know that AMD unveils numbers of RX 500 cards. The RX 570 and 580 are manufactured with Polaris 11 architecture in tow. The lineup is exciting especially the rumor of RX 550 getting a new architecture, Polaris 12. As for Radeon RX 560, it is expected to be a good alternative for low-end market.

It's unclear what AMD intends to do with the GPU rebrands given that the RX 500 and 400 series don't have much differences in the configurations; except, each new graphics card series receives reportedly higher clock.

AMD Radeon Vs. Nvidia GeForce GTX: Which is Better?

Putting things into perspective; RX 480 has been constantly being compared with the Pascal-based GTX 1080. Specs-wise, the GT 1080 is a clear winner, according to Game Debate. If the RX 500 series offers better specifications and will sell for a much cheaper price than the GTX 1080 - it is safe to assume that consumers might find AMD GPUs more appealing.

The long-standing battle also affects GTX 1070, 1060 and RX 480 aren't that different either but bigger VRAM allows RX 480 to be slightly better than GeForce GTX 1070 and a lot cheaper than the 1080. PC Advisor noted that RX 480 is the better value compared to both GeForce cards.

Radeno RX 500 Release Date

The RX 500 lineup will be ready in April, according to Hexus, but AMD keeps mum on the price and other details. Gaming enthusiasts who prefer to wait for a more powerful GPU, Radeon RX Vega, they might have to wait till May for full unveiling.
