A tech website has already laid hands on an actual Samsung Galaxy S8 and it looks like the Koreans did something brilliant with it. Not only does it have a nearly bezel-less display, an inherited iris scanner from Note 7, a mysterious side button possibly for Bixby, but best of all, it kept the 3.5mm headphone jack that Apple ditched for the iPhone 7.

It was previously reported that Samsung may do an Apple with the Galaxy S8 and galaxy S8+ and also remove the 3.5mm headphone jack. For many android users doing so could have ruined an otherwise impeccable phone for the said port still has its purpose and no one really wanted dongles packaged with the new phone. Apple only ditched the port to simplify the process of making the phone water resistant, but Samsung was able to work around it. The flagship phones even got an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, even better than the iPhones IP67 rating.

Now with an actual photo of the Samsung Galaxy S8 obtained by BGR, android fans finally get to see the real deal. It is no longer just renders and rumors for the smaller variant confirms what previously have been reported. The 5.8-inch phone is identical to its older sibling, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ except for a bigger 6.2-inch screen and battery. When it comes to specs, the lineup is not much different from the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the Note 7.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 in the photo also showcase a curved AMOLED display but this time the glass slopes down on both sides of the phone. The same is seen in the back part with the glass rounded on the sides so the phone rests snugly in the user's hands. It is a large phone but surprisingly narrower thanks to the barely there bezels on both sides of the screen. On one side are the power and volume buttons and the other have the relocated home and a mysterious button that could possibly be used to activate Bixby, Samsung's virtual assistant created by Siri-maker Viv Labs. The navigational buttons on the screen look different but the overall UI basically looks unaltered, according to Mashable.
