Radeon RX 500 Refreshes are all Polaris-based GPUs

AMD finally corrects the wrong speculations on Radeon RX 500. The company reportedly claims that RX 500 family will get a Polaris 10 XT architecture with higher clock base.

The RX 550 and 560 are manufactured based on Polaris 11. The series are said to receive a slight performance gain compared to RX 460 with the same architecture. This is due to the higher clock speeds that equip both graphics card. It's unclear why AMD launches the cards in different timeframe. For the 550 and 560, the schedule is on April 11, PC Perspective reported.

As for the more premium models - RX 570 and RX 580, these cards are expected to be available starting April 4. AMD has upped the machine configurations for both GPUs, making their performance 10 percent better than the older unit.

AMD announces Radeon RX Vega

It's no longer appropriate to call it a Vega-10 card or RX 490 as AMD officially revealed the name for its upcoming GPU, the Radeon RX Vega. AMD boss Raja Koduri delivered a keynote speech about the four qualities that the graphics card posses.

The Vega architecture is said to feature programmable geometry pipeline and high bandwidth cache controller that will enhance the graphics. AMD did not unveil the specs detail further, except that it will be built based on Vega 10 silicon but with the new architecture; the card will presumably get more cores for heavy duty task.

AMD Radeon RX Vega will start to ship sometime between May 30 and June 3, WccFTech reported.
