The latest "Pokémon GO" update is perfect for fashionistas and OOTD enthusiasts. Players' avatars now have new and expanded wardrobe customization options to choose from.

Niantic announced the news via the game's official Twitter page. The clip showcased new jackets, hats, backpacks and eyewear for trainers. Check out the expanded wardrobe below.

The developer also rolled out a special Pikachu edition on Feb. 27 to commemorate the day that the first Pokémon games were released in Japan. Trainers can now catch a festive Pikachu wearing a party hat in the wild.

Be quick, though, because the fan-favorite Pokémon's special edition will only be available until Monday, March 6, BGR reported. Some players found that a festive Raichu doesn't appear in the wild, but evolving a party Pikachu will yield a Raichu with the festive hat. There doesn't seem to be other perks in relation with the event aside from the festive Pikachu.

Niantic is preparing to launch three huge updates this year, according to Android Headlines. Earlier in February, Niantic CEO John Hanke confirmed that "Pokémon GO" will have a Pokémon trading system and a player vs. player battle system, but specific details about the features' release date weren't revealed.

Aside from trading and PvP battles, trainers are also expecting revamped gym mechanics. The release of the Generation 2 Pokémon was deemed as this year's first major update, and the succeeding ones would likely roll out around three months apart. There are claims that the trading system isn't a priority, though, so expect that update happening towards the end of the year.

A possible double XP (experience points) event was teased at last month's DICE Awards, where "Pokémon GO" won the Mobile Game of the Year award. Before a Niantic developer's interview with IGN ended, he advised players to "save your Candies" and winked at the camera.

There are speculations over on Reddit's The Silph Road thread that the double XP event would happen on St. Patrick's Day and probably double the XP or the effectiveness of Lucky Eggs. As for Easter, trainers are positing that the game will reward bonuses associated with Egg hatching and Egg-related Pokémon.
