According to studies, 155 million Americans are now in the world of video games. But a Mexican speedrunner just created a record of playing all 714 NES Games in the span of three years. That's intense stamina right there.

Speedrunner Finally Finishes 714 NES Games

Three years ago, a friend threw a challenge that instead of playing NES games a couple of minutes at a time he should play by the title. So Piotr Delgado Kusielczuk, code name "The Mexican Runner", diligently obliged and speedrun all 714 games in the NES archive. For three years the speedrunner went through the A-Z of the NES Games archive and spent about 3,000 years playing.

Kusielczuk documented everything in his blog and called it NESMania. He started on May 2014, Polygon reported, and documented every drama he encountered to keep the fans updated.

Part of the speedrunner's challenge was to play all NES Games released in North America, including the 35 that are PAL-exclusive. This made him the very first player to finish all 714 NES Games.

Most Memorable Moments

Kusielczuk's blog documented the drama of the experience including the time when another player started the same feat. While some of the NES Games are short, others like "Miracle Piano Teaching System" prove to be more challenging. But for the Mexican Runner, beating the games right away wasn't the goal - it was to test how long he can stand playing all 714 NEW Games, Kotaku reported.

The Mexican Runner was very proud of his accomplishment and said what was once an impossible quest became an achievable reality. But he also noted that finishing all 714 NES Games was not without nostalgia.

The Mexican Runner said the closer he got to the end, the heavier the responsibility becomes. He said it was important for him to make sure that each epic quest he played meets a proper ending. The purpose was to honor the games and mark every milestone he achieved playing them.

Kusielczuk celebrated his record by playing a guitar recapping all the best 10 moments of his three-year run.
