Ever since MacBook Pro 2016 was introduced with Skylake in tow, the fans are dissatisfied with its configurations. It has a 'rather old' processor, relatively low RAM, and short lifetime. While the Kaby Lake and bigger RAM did not make it to the current series, Apple might give in to fans' requests in this year's MacBook Pro. 

The MacBook Pro 2017 is expected to have a much bigger RAM, at least 32 GB. For the notebook to have such a huge random access memory, it needs a support from faster processor.

This year, Apple will use Intel Kaby Lake CPU in order to meet the desktop-class RAM, according to Apple Insider. While this is a good news, there is also the bad news. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects such configurations would only come to the high-end model, which is the 15-inch MacBook Pro 2017.

It is uncertain why Kuo believes that the high-end and 12-inch models will have a different mass production schedule. The 'affordable' MacBook Pro 2017 model production schedule is in the second quarter whereas the 15-inch variant mass production will begin in the third quarter.

The fans expect Apple to give the 2017 MacBook Pro a better battery life. If the upcoming notebook will have bigger RAM, it will obviously need a bigger battery capacity or at least a technology that would allow the device to consume less power.

Furthermore, Kuo has said that the 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar will replace the MacBook Air lineup. This could back up the claim that Apple wants tonboost the sales in 2017 by killing off a few products and focusing on a few redesigned lineups including the iPhone and iMac.

With the high-end laptop entering mass production in Q3 2017, MacWorld reported that fans will see MacBook Pro updates in early 2018.
