Though tech fans are already waiting for the Microsoft Surface Phone release, there are still rumors that the tech company will not continue with the handset. The tech giant's reason to stop Surface Phone release could attribute to the poor performance of other Windows gadgets. Nonetheless, rumor has it that Microsoft is planning to roll out the Surface Phone and Surface Pro 5 this year.

In recently released statistics from Gartner, the possibility of stopping of the Microsoft Surface Phone release points to the market share of Windows smartphone sales that declined in the last quarter of last year. Tech critics suggest that the Redmond, Washington based tech company could be thinking twice in releasing the Surface Phone. Nevertheless, a lot of tech enthusiasts are still holding on to CEO Satya Nadella's statement in November 2016 when he mentioned that the company is working to launch the ultimate mobile device.

Many speculated that the Microsoft CEO could be talking about the upcoming Surface Phone. As Trusted Reviews indicated, the Microsoft Surface Phone will still come out this year, and the device could be released during the first half of 2017. The Microsoft Surface Phone is expected to have a price tag around $699 to $1,100.

Microsoft is reportedly working on three Surface Phone variants, where each variant will have its own storage configuration and RAM. The Surface Phone variants are the 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage, 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage and an 8GB of RAM with 500GB of internal storage. These Surface Phones are said to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 830 processor and the device will come along with Windows 10 Mobile 64-Bit architecture.

That being said, there is still no official word from Microsoft about the Surface Phone, but tech fans are hoping it will still materialize.
