The disappearance of Surface Pro 3 from Microsoft online store has intensified the speculation that Surface Pro 5 is just around the corner. Did Microsoft discontinued the third-gen 2-in-1 tablet and left traces of its release date? Read more!

Microsoft Reportedly Killed Off Surface Pro 3

Last two days, the refurbished Surface Pro 3 is widely available for sale in Amazon with major price cut. On the same day, Tech Radar reported the disappearance of the third-gen 2-in-1 tablet from Microsoft online store that further leads to the speculation about the alleged product discontinuation.

The reported disappearance of Surface Pro 3 has been spotted first from the Microsoft online stores in Australia, US and UK. The report claims that although the buy links are available through Google's search result, they automatically redirect to Microsoft's pages leaving no traces of the device.

However, since Surface Pro 3 can already be considered as obsolete hardware-wise, the discontinuation could make sense for Microsoft's part. But since the Windows-maker company releases a firmware update for its respectable tablet last Jan. 30, silently killing It off has made the fans wondered.

Microsoft Has Reportedly Started Surface Pro 5 Production

Proofs of Surface Pro 5 existence have surfacing the internet but the most substantial one is taken from the LinkedIn profile of Microsoft's product designer Toby Fitch. According to Droid Report, there's a part of Fitch's profile that says he is working for a Microsoft project but it has been taken down immediately.

Netizens have been quick enough and immediately suspect that Surface Pro 5 is indeed on its way. Aside from the fact that Fitch has accidentally revealed about the new device, Fitch has been working with Microsoft since June and his team is said to be focusing on the design for the product models.

As of now, it has become difficult to confirm the exact launching date of Surface Pro because Microsoft has launched its predecessors in May, June, September and October of different year. However, October is the most probable month for the launching if it's going to be based from last year's major event.
