From design to codename, here's the latest update on Galaxy Note 8!

A recent report suggests that Galaxy Note 8 is currently on the work. There have been rumors and speculations, including unconfirmed leaks of the alleged Galaxy Note 8. However, as much as the fans want the Note 8 to be powerful and awesome, a few of the rumors may not come to fruition. Here's why!

A new name

A few sources, including a piece from WccFtech, reported that the codename 'Baikal' has surfaced. It somehow suggests that Galaxy Note 8 could be getting a new name. This isn't likely to happen even after Note 7 debacle because the South Korean giant has promised to continue its Note iteration, and it won't likely carry a different name.

No stylus

Samsung designed Note series for high-end market. The phablets are oriented towards pen computing, hence, the likelihood is slim for Galaxy Note 8 not to be getting an S Pen. It's strongly believed that the stylus will most likely improve instead.

Foldable display

So far, the rumors surrounding Note 7 successor have been about the device getting a foldable display, a 4K resolution and VR-ready.

It may be too early to launch a Note iteration that's completely different from the predecessor. The best guess would be - a better and safer battery with a 4K display to match Daydream VR compatibility.

Nonetheless, Galaxy Note 8 will surely have a fast performance as it will be using the latest Qualcomm's chipset, Snapdragon 835.

Android O Operating System

With Hiroshi Lockheimer constantly teases fans with the next Android version, many have assumed that if Galaxy Note 8 makes a debut in August, it will be running Android O. However, the phablet will most likely run Android 7.0 Nougat and possibly getting an update to Android O a few months later, PC Advisor reported.
