Basically every little girl's childhood dream, one can understand why Lindsay Lohan wants to star in a "Little Mermaid" live-action movie.

But while a "Little Mermaid" live-action movie seems unlikely as of now due to other classic Disney animated films getting confirmed for the next box-office roster, Lindsay Lohan still expressed her interest on being Ariel. According to CNN Entertainment, she posted a side-by-side image of her and Ariel on Instagram just a few days ago. That being said, Walt Disney Studios has yet to announce whether a live-action adaptation of "The Little Mermaid" is truly happening.

Meanwhile, another classic Disney animated film is coming to life - in full circle. A "Lion King" live-action movie was recently confirmed and James Earl Jones, the original voice of Mufasa, will reprise his iconic character in the upcoming film. According to Digital Trends, Donald Glover, who is confirmed to star in the upcoming "Han Solo" film, was also cast as Simba. The two actors were officially announced last Saturday via Jon Favreau's Twitter posts, who directed "The Jungle Book" live-action movie last year as well.

Further detailed on the same publication, the bar is now set even higher for the next live-action adaptations of Walt Disney's classic animated films. "Alice in Wonderland" grossed more than $10 billion back in 2010 and was followed by the box-office successes of "Cinderella" and "The Jungle Book." Thus, having "Beauty and the Beast" released this year and "The Lion King" confirmed for the next box-office roster just shows how Disney can truly be a force to reckon with.

Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" is set to be released on March 17, 2017 - starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
