Overwatch is getting another big story this week. Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan has just dropped a bombshell in the gaming world as he hinted recently that Doomfist will not be the next Overwatch hero. Kaplan made the big announcement on Twitter this week.

There has been so much speculation and buzz about the Overwatch character Doomfist recently. Being the 24th and next Overwatch hero in the shooter game appeared to be a sure ball at that time. Following earlier reports and rumors, it's been the general assumption that Doomfist would be the 24th Overwatch hero in the lists, but Kaplan appears to be telling the big crowd that this is not really the case.

Blizzard today decided to take some action, putting an end to those belief that Doomfist would be the next Overwatch hero.

According to IGN, Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan has just reconfirmed to the world that his team is currently working multiple new heroes. Kaplan also suggests that the 24th hero would not be Doomfist, as many fans have believed. Telling fans that the next Overwatch hero might not be the one they been expecting before.

This means that Blizzard has some big surprise waiting for the Overwatch fans. Kaplan made the confirmation that it was working on multiple heroes in an Overwatch forum thread.

According to Eurogamer.net, which got the full details of the Doomfist story, Kaplan's mention of 'multiple new heroes' also suggests that Doomfist still remains on the Overwatch hero list.

Back in December 2016, Blizzard did mention in an Overwatch update that it was working on Overwatch heroes, which is in plural form and not in the singular form.

Blizzard Teases New Overwatch Character

As mentioned earlier by gaming site IGN, Blizzard has finally introduced to the world the newest character and addition to Overwatch, the name is Efi Oladele, an 11-year-old robotics prodigy from Numbani.

The Overwatch team made the introduction in an Overwatch Twitter update. That Overwatch tweet reads: 'Meet Efi Oladele' the recipient of the Adawe Foundation's prestigious grant for her achievements in AI and robotics field.
