The plans for the promised Osborne replacement have caused confusion to the Osborne High School parents and community residents, and they have requested the Cobb School District to lay down their concrete plans.

Earl Johnson, who is a resident in the Osborne area said that they just want to see it clear in writing what's happening because they are getting confused, according to MDJ Online.

Johnson and John Williams who is also Osborne area resident addressed the Cobb School board on a Thursday night during a meeting in the public comment portion.

The Osborne community was promised with a $30 million replacement school in 2013 when Cobb voters agreed with a 1 percent tax for schools, but four years have passed and the residents have seen no progress and construction.

It was 2016 when it was announced that Cobb County Schools will be building the new $30 million College and Career Academy in Marietta, according to WABE90.1. But four years is a long time, said Williams, and they were already promised a lot of things.

John Adams, the Deputy Superintendent said that the Cobb School District is planning for a construction of the four buildings and the new college in the high school's campus. The project is supposed to be replacing the four existing buildings in the Osborne's campus.

According to the District officials, the campus is most likely going to go through several phases in the next coming years. The project will include the construction of both a new school and a College and Career Academy, but the district has not released a specific timeline yet on the replacement school or the construction. They are also looking for ways by which these plans will not disrupt classes.
