Could "Grey's Anatomy" season 13, episode 14 spoilers hint new romance for Arizona? How about for Meredith? Ever since Dr. Derek Shepherd died, fans have been pushing her to her best pal, Alex. However, it seems like unlike Jessica Capshaw's character (Arizona), Ellen Pompeo and Justin Chambers are hinting a bit different story arc for these two characters.

Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) fans have always been dreaming of someone who could do justice to Derek's love to their favorite character. After the latter died, there have been reports claiming that there might be a man out there who is set to appear in the future to tend the doctor's heartbreak. However, the most common speculation is that Alex (Justin Chambers) could be this person.

In Chamber's interview with TV Line, he hints that "anything is possible". He may or may not fall in love to Meredith or vice versa. There is still a possibility, there have been stories about longtime friends becoming lovers in the end.

However, the actor says he prefers Meredith and Alex to see each other as not just friends but more like siblings.

"Personally, I don't see that [happening] right now. I think it would be kind of strange," says Chambers.

Meanwhile, when Pompeo was asked the same question, the actress tells the same site that she sees Alex and Meredith in a very close friendship -- "they're too close to" each other. However, along with this answer, she added that the close relationship between these two characters is "much like brother and sister".

Moreover, the actress also relates her Meredith and Alex' friendship to her personal life. She insists that she also has friends who are super-close but they never had a romantic relationship.

"I think just because you're so in love with someone in one way doesn't mean it's a romantic love," says Pompeo. "But they certainly do understand each other a lot."

On the other hand, in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 upcoming episode, Meredith will start her move to get back her job. Meanwhile, Arizona tries her best to keep herself away from Eliza (Marika Dominczyk). It is said that the latter is the new love interest of Dr. Robbins. However, there is still no other updated information about it or how these two characters' relationship progresses.

As for the official synopsis (via TV Maze) of episode 14, it says: "Alex returns to the hospital and discovers a lot has changed since he left. Meanwhile, Jo has to make a difficult decision on a case, and Arizona tries to distance herself from Eliza."

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13, episode 14 "Back Where You Belong" airs on Feb. 23.
