"Vikings" season 5 cast member, Alex Høgh Andersen, teases what is in store for his character in the fifth installment. The actor hints Ivar the Boneless is angry yet "in love".

Alex Høgh Andersen Talks Ivar The Boneless Fat, What Is In Store For His Character

Andersen, who plays the role of Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel) son, opens up about his character's future in "Vikings". In his interview with Entertainment Tonight ,he hints Ivar's "violent future" in "Vikings".

"Every single thing he does is a compensation for his disease, and him struggling all the time to prove himself," explains Andersen.

Ivar has an uncontrollable anger that comes from his struggles. Viewers were able to witness how this anger cause the death of Sigurd.

As per the actor's interview, Ivar's complicated personality comes from his desire to be noticed as someone who can lead the army. With the fact that the people and even his brothers fail to see this is the reason why he keeps trying his very best to show who Ivar is.

However, with Sigurd's (David Lindstrom) sudden death, Ivar's life will change.

"It's a major, major scene... he would be the absolute weapon if he could control his anger," says Andersen before hinting that Ivar will struggle to control his rage in "Vikings" season 5. Not to mention, even after his character's experiences, there is still a boy inside of him "that is just so angry, so hurt."

Meanwhile, as for Lagertha's (Katheryn Winnick) fate in Ivar's hand, the latter will not sit still and let her live. Lagertha kills the only woman (Alyssa Sutherland) who truly loves Ivar and this alone makes him want the shieldmaiden and ruler brutal death.

On the other hand, while teasing what Ivar would be in "Vikings" season 5, Andersen also seems to hint that viewers will see Ivar falling in love with someone.

"Determined, still angry, violent, but also in love," says the actor. "He's completely out of touch with reality and his emotions."

As for Ivar's new opponent, Rotten Tomatoes reports that Vikings will come face to face with yet another important historical figure, Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) Ragnar's son and the newest addition to the cast is bound to interact with each other, as per Michael Hirst's revelation.

'Vikings' Possible Release Date

On a different note, reports claim that "Vikings" season 5 might premiere later this year. Based on the series previous release dates, the show airs in the month of February or March. However, since the last episode of season 5 aired only this month of Feb., it is safe to say that the show could be slated in the month of November or December this year.

Stay tuned for more "Vikings" update.
