Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting Hollywood's biggest night show, the Academy Award 2017. Here are some of the interesting facts you need to know about the comedian.
The feud with Matt Damon
The feud is a public joke but it has happened since 11 years ago when the 49-year-old star made a one-liner joke and mentioned Matt Damon, "I want to apologize to Matt Damon. We ran out of time."
It was purely for the amusement but after noticing his producer laughed at his joke, he started to use it often.
When asked why he chose the name, the late night host claimed he has no particular reason. Having no plan to resolve the feud, for this year's Oscars, Jimmy wishes that the Martian actor would lose, Time reported.
The witty host who once got fired
His path to success isn't all smooth as Jimmy once took a job at KZOK and WRBQ radio stations but ended up being fired. He then joined comedy Central game show and made a great impression that had allowed him to path the career for four years. He earned an Emmy for daytime Game Show Host.
The Voice-actor
Surprisingly, the American comedian's voice wasn't only featured as in "The Boss" and "Ted 2" but his voice can be heard in the video gaming world when he got involved in "Call of duty: Black Ops II" in 2012, IGN reported.
About the 2017 Academy Awards
The annual ceremony will be held at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on Feb. 26. This marks the achievements in the film industry and having to go home with an Oscar statuette would mean the highest appreciation that one can deserve. The Oscars 2017 will be Jimmy's first appearance as a host.
