The Office 365 adds the Secure Score tool to benchmark security by first analyzing an organization's configuration then gives them a corresponding score for it. This is part of Microsoft's plans to beef up its security capabilities to thwart ongoing cybersecurity threats by enabling organizations the means to know which threats are coming from within or outside.

Cybersecurity remains to be an organization's primary concern and Microsoft knows this. Last Friday, the Redmond-based giant has deployed new tools and new security capabilities ahead of the RSA security conference in San Francisco, which will be happening next week.

Office 365 Adds Secure Score Tool

Companies using the Office 365 will now have the Secure Score tool to benchmark their security. The new feature analyzes the company's configurations then gives them a score that is based on their deployed security controls. In addition, the application also provides guidance on what features can be used to further improve the security of the company they are working for.

The Score Analyzer begins by showing users the features that give the most benefit. These features are also selected to have minimal impact on the users. From there, users can further explore their options on what kind of security enhancements they wish to make, PC World reported

The new feature offers more than just at-a-glance view of existing practices on security for it also has practical uses. Microsoft reveals that The Hartford is using the Secure Score tool to evaluate potential customers applying for Cybersecurity insurance.

Office 365 Threat Intelligent Services

Microsoft has previously announced the Office 365 threat Intelligence Services and now its private beta has just been confirmed. This version enables administrators to be privy to certain information regarding Cybersecurity threats within and outside an organization according to TechSpot. An administrator can easily pinpoint a member of their organization most likely to be attacked which can be traced from the amount of bitcoin attackers often asked from a ransomware attack.
