"Pitch Perfect 3" returning and additional cast has been revealed along with the movie's official premiere date. Here are the things we know so far.

'Pitch Perfect 3' Cast, Premiere Update

According to Variety, "Pitch Perfect 3" added another unexpected face to the film franchise. The breakout star of NBC's science fiction drama series, "Timeless", is set to add his voice to the project.

Matt Lanter, or known as the voice of Anakin Skywalker in Cartoon Network's "Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Wyatt Logan in "Timeless", is tapped to be in "Pitch Perfect 3". As of writing, nothing has been revealed about his character. However, his addition is indeed a wise decision as his name is already considered as one of the hottest topics nowadays.

Other than Lanter, "The Crown" veteran actor John Lithgow will also appear in "Pitch Perfect 3". Rapper Trinidad James and Ruby Rose are also signed to be part of the movie.

As for the other cast who are set to return, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld and Elizabeth Banks are already on board and filming the "Pitch Perfect 3". Along with Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, Alexis Knapp, Ester Dean, Chrissie Fit, Kelley Jakle and Andy Allo, Shelley Regner, Guy Burnet, and John Michael Higgins will also reprise their roles.

Meanwhile, as of today, the production slated "Pitch Perfect 3" for a December release. The decision of doing another installment comes even before "Pitch Perfect 2" was released. This is after the franchise got positive critical and commercial reviews.

'Pitch Perfect 3': What Else You Should Know

As for the other details about "Pitch Perfect 3", the storyline for the story is still under wraps as of today. Nothing has been confirmed whether there are lots of changes in the film. However, what is known so far is rapper James will be part of Barden Bellas' rival acapella group.

Moreover, other news reported that Trish Sie is in "Pitch Perfect 3" director's chair while Kay Cannon writes the screenplay with Dana Fox and Mike White. It will be under Gold Circle Films and Brownstone Production.

On the other hand, one of the casts, Wilson, has been continuously updating the fans about "Pitch Perfect 3". According to Mail Online, the actress has been posting videos and pictures about the set and how the story progresses. "Pitch Perfect 3" is slated for a Dec. 22, 2017 release.
