"Orange is the New Black" season 5 release date has been announced along with some spoilers that fans should watch out for. Adding on, the cast members also revealed some details about the next installment. Here is what we know so far.

'Orange is the New Black' Season 5 Premiere Details

"Orange is the New Black" season 5 will begin where season 4 left off. Daya will be seen holding a gun that will eventually cause bigger problems, and of course, a much more prison-wide riot.

In the released promo for "Orange is the New Black" season 5, the series' characters are seen showing unexplainable mixed emotions. Though it is not clear why they seem worried, shock, confuse, and scared, one thing is for sure, the prisoners will be facing another intense confrontation and complicated situations when the fifth season returns.

As for the returning cast, Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon will come back to reprise their roles as Piper and Alex. Along with Dascha Polanco (Daya), Jackie Cruz (Flaca), Danielle Brooks (Taystee), Natasha Lyonne (Nicky), Natasha Lyonne (Nicky), Adrienne C. Moore (Cindy), Selenis Leyva (Gloria), Jessica Pimentel (Maria), Laverne Cox (Sophia), Kate Mulgrew (Red) and Yael Stone (Lorna) will also return in "Orange is the New Black" season 5.

'Orange is the New Black' Season 5 Cast Talks Upcoming Installment

According to Brooks' interview with The Hollywood Reporter, with Poussey's tragic death, the upcoming "Orange is the New Black" season 5 will give the viewers an extreme storyline.

"It's war. Taystee has nothing to lose, she's lost everything that she cared so deeply about." Brooks revealed. "It's time to fight."

Adding on, Brooks hints that "Orange is the New Black" season 5 will be in detail, and fans should get ready as it will be "very intense".

Moreover, other cast members such as Schilling, Cox, and Aduba also revealed additional details about "Orange is the New Black" season 5. All three have only exciting notes for the fans this coming fifth installment.

Aduba hinted to E! News that in "Orange is the New Black" season 5, unresolved questions will finally get an answer this time around. Shilling, on the other hand, thinks that "the stakes are higher this season than they have been in a while".

Meanwhile, when it comes to Cox, the actress noted that the script for "Orange is the New Black" season 5 is "incredible" and "intense"

"It manages...as intense as it all is, it still manages to have an irreverence and a spin that is funny and thoughtful," Cox said.

"Orange is the New Black" season 5 will air on June 9.
