Sony released another new experimental update on the concept firmware of Xperia models. The company's mobile division has added features such as "ambient display" update and fixes on the viewfinder mode.

The Xperia Concept builds contains software features that may or may not be included to the official builds for Sony's Xperia smartphone range. In the latest experimental build, Sony is adding more updates and fixes on the software.

The "Experimental track" build brings a new Ambient display option. Android Headlines has learned that the ambient display feature allows users to set their device's display to life every time they receive a notification. When activated, users can quickly check the message or notification if it is important, without turning on the display. This option can be enabled or disabled in the Display menu from the Settings tab.

In addition to the new display option, the official change log of the Xperia Concept build mentions adjustment on the brightness in the "Viewfinder" mode. The calibrated screen brightness will offer a realistic representation of how bright the image will appear once taken and processed, Phone Arena reported.

Aside from the mentioned improvements, the latest update addresses several bug fixes such as the audio loss issue on the Bluetooth channel when using the "OK Google" voice commands. Fixes for tinted display colors and notification LED for missed calls are also included.

The update brings the software version to 38.3.A.0.94 and has a downloadable size of 40MB. Users should note that the Xperia Concept builds are only available to Xperia X users, who enrolled in the beta program and have been selected as participants.

Before the latest experimental suite, Sony's mobile division has already added few updates on the Xperia Concept, such as the improved "Battery Saver" feature. The said feature will revive some of the functionalities of the old Stamina mode that was initially integrated into the early operating system of Xperia devices, before being replaced by Doze mode with the introduction of Android Marshmallow update.

On another note, the "Night Light" option was also introduced in the early experimental updates. This feature makes it easier for users to view their phones at night. Once activated, the display will tint the screen with a pinkish amber color during night time.

The company claimed that the amber color variant enables users to read contents at night and to aid in good sleeping time as it reduces exposure to blue light. In addition, the "Night Light" also allows users to switch the feature on from sunset to sunrise, or the option to customize the exact timing of its activation.
