Nintendo just released a short video of the Nintendo Switch hardware with a closer look at the console, dock, and controllers. The newest console will be released on March 3 but with one lacking feature, the ability to browse the net.

Early this week, Nintendo gave an artfully choreographed video showing a detailed overview of the consoles and its Joy-Con controllers. It lasts only for three and a half minutes, which is more than enough to show the different ways to use the Switch.

The Handheld Mode

Note that the tablet itself is the actual console and not the dock. Removing the tablet from the dock and putting the controllers into the grooves located on its sides allows users to enter the Handheld Mode. The Switch is now a portable console that is essentially autonomous from any cords or displays.

Nintendo says that the Handheld Mode can last for six hours. Beyond that, users can opt to charge via USB-C charger while playing.

The Tabletop Mode

The Tabletop Mode is when the console is propped up using its built-in kickstand and placed on a flat surface like a table. The two Joy-Con controllers are then removed from the tablet.

The TV Mode

This is when the dock is connected to the TV through an HDMI cord. Once the console is slipped through the dock, users can now use the TV in playing for a better gaming experience at 1080p resolution. The tablet is only able to reach up to 720p, BGR reported.

Web Browsing Not Included

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima revealed that all efforts were directed toward creating an "amazing dedicated video game platform," CNet has learned. This does not include integrating the web browsing feature included in the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The Japanese have admitted that it was a challenge to integrate browsing into the Wii U. This could explain why Nintendo skipped this feature in their pricey $299 console to meet their deadline.

However, there is still a chance that this feature may be included in future upgrades. Another feature available for the Nintendo Switch is playing online games via Wi-Fi connection. Players can play multiplayer by linking up with seven consoles in near proximity.
