"Lego Batman" vs. "Fifty Shades": The Battle of the numbers

Universal expects "Fifty Shades Darker" to make less than $40 million during its three-day opening, while Warner Bros. expects "The Lego Batman Movie" to make $60 when it opens this weekend, SF Gate reported. The original "The Lego Movie" earned $69 million during its debut weekend and went on to earn a total of $257.8 million in the US. Meanwhile, the first "Fifty Shades of Grey" earned $85 million during its opening weekend and made $166 million in the US.

However, according to reports, the opening day for "Fifty Shades Darker" won't fall on February 14, which is a factor that could affect its viewership. "Fifty Shades of Grey" in 2015 was released during Valentine's Day, which helped it became a massive hit. Since it's a romantic thriller, it fits the season perfectly, raking it about $572 worldwide.
