Ahead of the Mobile World Congress 2017 trade event, Samsung is poised to share new additions to its portfolio of tablets, as new Samsung tablet was revealed on Wi-Fi Alliance receiving a Wi-Fi certification.

An unannounced Samsung tablet has just been certified by Wi-Fi Alliance, which bears the model number SM-T378. Surprisingly enough, the mystery tablet will be released in at least four variants as indicated in the documentation.

Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi Alliance did not disclose more information about the new tablet model, aside with the report that it will run an Android operating system and will support both the 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz Wi-Fi bands, coupled with usual array of power saving and connection technologies.

According to Android Headlines, the three other models revealed with the Samsung tablet are the SM-T378S, SM-T378K and SM-T378L. The different model could represent different chipsets or cellular modem functionality, although no details are announced on the tablets' screen size, type and resolution, chipset or even the version of Android.

On another note, The Mobile Indian noted a similar Wi-Fi certification that is revealed to be the Samsung Tab E 8.0 (2017). According to the said documentation, the Samsung tablet will support 2.4GHz single-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity features. The listing also shows an Android operating system pre-isntalled.

As the name suggests, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 (2017) will feature 8-inch display. If the report is to be believed, the upcoming tablet will be the successor tablet for the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 released last year.

To refresh, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 LTE features an 8-inch HD (1280X800 pixels) IPS display. Its hardware is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage onboard. The memory can be further expanded via a micro SD card of up to 128 GB. On the software front, the tablet runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Its connectivity options include WiFi, GPS, micro USB and Bluetooth plus LTE connectivity via a nano-SIM slot. The tablet measures 212.2 x 126.1 x 8.9mm and weighs 360 grams, and houses a 5000 mAh battery.

With the MWC trade show only a few weeks away, it is certain that Samsung will introduce its 2017 tablet family, including the recently certified SM-T378 model.
