The Japanese tech giant Nintendo made it known that its upcoming Nintendo Switch gaming console will offer enhanced web services. It has also been revealed that the annual fee of the online service is a fraction of what players are paying on platforms like the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima said in a statement that the online service of Nintendo Switch would cost between 2,000 yen and 3,000 yen annually, which is $17 to $26 per year. Though details of the online service are few, the Nintendo Switch web service will bring multiplayer gaming, smartphone chat app and offers a free classic game download to users each month, according to Nikkei.

Nevertheless, the online service of Nintendo Switch will likely half the price of its biggest competitors. But, considering Nintendo's history with online gaming, it's unlikely the gaming system's online offering will be as vigorous as PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold. In spite of that, Nintendo president Kimishima stated that with paid Nintendo Switch online services, the tech company will be able to fully commit to Switch users.

On the other hand, ever since the pre-orders of Nintendo Switch first opened up a few weeks ago, the stock has been slim. As a result, a number of Nintendo fans who would like to have Nintendo's latest gaming console on launch day haven't been able to order one. The tech monster recognizes that this is an issue, as Nintendo CEO Kimishima stated that they will increase the production of the gaming system, Tech Mic reported.

The Japanese tech giant has just over a month to make as much units as possible. The Nintendo is slated to hit the market on March 3, which gave the tech company less than two months of time before the launch day.

That being the case, Nintendo CEO Kimishima also claimed that the company is planning to roll out two or three smartphone games in March 2018.
