Last week, the anticipated latest installment from the "Resident Evil" movie franchise was released. Learn how "Resident Evil Final Chapter" did in its box office debut week.

"Resident Evil Final Chapter": was it able to deliver?

Per AV Club, the latest title from "Resident Evil" is one of the franchise's weaker releases. The source added to say that Director Paul WS Anderson is an artist of zomboid head-shots and secret testing facilities, with wife Milla Jovovich is his muse.

The installement is said to be cut much. Although, the breathless pace suffocates a couple of third-act plot twists, taking away one of its possible tragedy and the other of its revolutionary political subtext.

One scene was highlighted - more of like questioned. It's the one where a highway battle shows the influence of "Mad Max: Fury Road" and a crazed, fiery siege sequence that pits Alice and a group of Raccoon City survivors against an inattentive army of zombies that seems to number in the hundreds of thousands. It seems notable that the shambling undead or the the single easiest can't-miss metaphor in the myth of horror-hold almost no interest for Anderson, except as a generic threat.
